What makes Salt Coast different?
We took everything people hate about tallow and fixed it. No beefy smell, no grit, no jars whipped full of air, just beautifully smooth, obsessively purified tallow made to feel like proper skincare.
What is tallow exactly?
Tallow is purified organ fat, also known as suet, but stay with us... When properly rendered, and purified, it becomes a rich, silky moisturizer, naturally abundant, in skin-loving fatty acids. We take grass fed, grass finished tallow and refine it until there's no beefy smell, no grit-just seriously good skincare.
What's actually in the jar?
Exactly what we say is. Grass-fed, grass finished tallow, and organic jojoba oil, some Madagascan vanilla beans (SABLE VANILLA), that's it. Our proprietary purification process means we don't need to hide tallow behind fragrances, or a cocktail of oils. Nothing to mask, nothing to hide.
Doesn't it smell like beef?
We don't think so, nor do our customers, and that's kind of our thing. Our tallow is obsessively purified, to create a clean, incredibly mild base.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
That's exactly why we made BARE. Just purified grass-fed, grass finished tallow and organic jojoba oil. Simple, gentle skincare, for skin that prefers less.
How should I use it on my face and body?
Warm a small amount between your fingertips or palms, then press or massage it into skin, face, hands, elbows, anywhere that needs it. Works morning or night, under makeup or on bare skin.
Can I use it on my children?
Many of our customers use it as a family jar, for kids and adults alike. As with any new skincare product, we'd suggest a patch test first.
